“Win or Lose, I love You! (Lulu and Her Tutu)!” by Lysa Terkeurst teaches kids how to deal with competition whether they win or lose. As a mother of five children I have witnessed my kids compete with their peers from sports, to music, drama, academics, and running for student council. competition is good for kids but it is also essential that they learn how to react in a positive way.

This colorfully illustrated children‘s book introduces the reader to Lulu and Max and their animal friends.  The animals are preparing for a field day competition to identify who will be the leader of the forest.  The animals learn that not everyone can be winners.  One animal over celebrates when he wins which causes another animal to be a sore loser. In another event one of the losing animals throws a tantrum which spoils the following event.  Every time, one animal, Bear-Bear, reacts to the problems in a kind, loving and forgiving manner, just like Christ.  At the end of the book, it is Bear-Bear who gets chosen to be the leader of the forest.

“Win or Lose, I love You!” shows children how to behave like Christ in competitions and to have a positive attitude, whether they win or lose.  This book would be a great gift for young athletes, little musicians, and future leaders.  You can purchase, “Win or Lose, I love You!
