Is there anybody else available with a pacifier addict over the age of 2 (or much better yet, 3?!) that effectively transitioned away from the dependency?
More than a year ago, we transitioned quite effectively to bedtime as well as naptime only. as well as that’s where we’re stuck.
But for the past six months, Holden is the only youngster over age 2 at his institution to utilize a pacifier at naptime. Peer pressure doesn’t seem to have an effect (so that’s great as well as poor since he’s positive as well as since it’s a practice I desire he’d just kick).
Good buddies of mine insurance claim that when their son’s kicked the binky habit, so as well went their afternoon nap. I’m not prepared to provide the nap up just yet so I’m nervous.
Is it akin to quitting smoking for an adult? It feels like it in some cases (like on Saturday when we were speaking at Target in front of all the pacifier brands as well as we were selecting a new one since Avent stopped making his preferred brand… “so, you like Latex, huh?”).
I want to be respectful of his burgeoning options however part of me wishes to pluck it out as well as throw it away while he sleeps. Is the “Binky Fairy” a great thing or a poor thing? If he just keeps going will all his teeth rot?
I’m asking you, Internets, can you provide me any type of suggestions to simplicity the transition? any type of concepts of what not to do?
